Blended Backgrounds Add interest to your traditionally set blocks by treating the background as an additional design element. Add and subtract seam lines and divide the background areas in new ways to create your own unique design. You may spend the day designing and planning your personal quilt or sewing the Ohio Star quilt shown.		Piecing Mosaic Tile Designs Mosaic tiles are a rich design source for quiltmakers, but can be somewhat intimidating to piece. Using freezer paper as a piecing aid lets you tackle these intricate designs with confidence. You may choose one of Jean’s designs or begin work on your own design.

Picky Piecing Each block in this small wallhanging uses a different piecing technique. Reinforce skills you already have and learn new ones as you piece each star. You can use your stars to make this wallhanging or a table runner or five pillows (or nothing!). It is the process of piecing that will be emphasized, not the finished product. Lots of tips will be shared that will show you ways to improve your piecing skills. Techniques will include: Quarter square triangles; Flying Geese; Folded corners; Y-seams; Partial seams and Using templates.		Feathered Star The tiny triangles in Feathered Star pattern can be very intimidating. Learning to use bias-strip piecing techniques will make those tiny triangles easy to handle. Class will also include information about the different types of Feathered Star designs.
